The Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study will hold its 101st annual conference in Chicago, April 28-30, 2011. SASS will celebrate the centennial of its founding. The American Scandinavian Foundation will also celebrate the centennial of its founding. The conference will open with a plenary on Thursday evening. Conference papers will be presented in four sessions on Friday and four sessions on Saturday. The SASS Annual Meeting will be held on Friday afternoon prior to the ASF Reception. The Saturday evening Banquet and Dance will feature music by Joe Lill's Six of One dance band.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts for conference sessions is December 31, 2010. Please email abstracts to Charles Peterson, cpeterson@northpark.edu
Unfortunately, cancellations received after March 26, 2011 are not refundable for any reason.
All SASS sessions and meetings will be held at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza Hotel. It is important that SASS members stay in the conference hotel in order to meet minimum sleeping room requirements.
